Saturday, 1st June was Beadz & Bobz’s (my bead store) first wire jewelry class. It was so much fun! I have to admit I was a bit of a wire snob. I love my beads and no-one could change my mind. That was my mindset until I saw what the instructor would be teaching.
Wire jewelry requires a whole different set of tools from what I’ve acquired over the years but everything was provided for the class so I just dived into the project.

The Projects
Rose-Ann Carter of Cliffmir’s Creations was very patient with all of us especially when it came to forming the coils with the drill. Power tools are not my thing but I think I handled myself with grace, if I do say so myself.
At the end of the class we all had a necklace to take home.
It was nice to be the one sitting in the chair and learning for a change. I shall have to find some other tutors to teach skills I haven’t yet learned.
During the next class we made a matching pair of earrings and a bangle and afterwards, another project chosen by Rose-Ann. It was a necklace composed of several coils linked together using jumprings. We learned to form swirls as well and I threw a few of those into my necklace.
This necklace was far more time-consuming! My poor fingers cried near the end of it but I persevered and I now own another gorgeous wire piece.
